This article will provide a step by step guide on how to configure your Tax correctly in order to synchronise your Cavewire system tax with your QB Online Account. In order to do this, you will need to ensure your Tax Rates in QuickBooks and Cavewire are named the same.
Step 1. Find your QuickBooks Online Tax Rates
When you login to your QuickBooks Online account, you will need to navigate to your Sales Tax Centre. Use the left hand navigation and select the Taxes tab.
If needed, select the Continue to old tax center button to find your list of taxes.
Go to your Sales Tax Center by logging into QuickBooks Online and navigating to the Taxes tab.
Step 2. Open your Cavewire Sales Tax Rates Page
Now you will need to navigate to your Cavewire Sales Tax Rates page. To do this, go to Sales->Tax->Manage Tax Zones & Rates. From here you can add, edit or remove tax rates for different zones.
Navigate to your Manage Tax Rates page by selecting Sales->Tax->Manage Tax Zones & Rates
Step 3. Compare and Sync your Tax Rates
Finally, you will need to make sure that your Cavewire and QuickBooks Tax rates are synced manually. To do this, you will need to make sure that every Tax Rate in Cavewire has a Tax Rate in Quickbooks with the same name.
For example, if you have a Tax Rate named 'California' in Cavewire, you will need to create or edit your California Tax Rate in Quickbooks to be named the same.
When invoices are pushed via API from Cavewire to Quickbooks, the tax rate will be calculated using the logic in Cavewire and sent to the tax rate with the same name in Quickbooks.
If your tax is not showing when sent through to Quickbooks - check you have a tax rate with the same name in both Quickbooks and Cavewire.
Open your Cavewire Tax Rates next to your Quickbooks Online Tax rates and make sure each has an equivalent in the other system with the same name.
Once complete, you can save you tax rates.
Your tax rates will now be in sync between the two instances and your tax will push through to QuickBooks Online from your Cavewire system.
