This guide will show you how to add products to different categories in your Cavewire system as well as giving an overview of the category section.
Categories are used in a number of parts of your Cavewire system.
You can use categories to display your products on your Front-End website. Each system can be setup to your needs, but generally, an e-commerce Cavewire website will have a category named Shop or Store where products can be shown on the front end website.
Adding products to categories
This can either be done from the category section, or by opening each individual product.
Open your Categories page by navigating to Catalog->Manage Categories
Select the category you want to add products to.
Select the Category Products Tab.
By default this tab will be showing just products already in this category. To view all products including ones that are not yet in this category, change the filter in the first column to by Any or No if you only want to see products not included in the category.
Use the top filters and View By dropdown to find the products you are looking for. For Surfboards, it is recommended to filter by Type: Surfboard Model.
Select the new products you want to add by using the checkboxes or uncheck boxes next to products you want to remove.
You are also able to add products to categories on an individual product level.
To do this, you just need to open up your product and using the left hand navigation, go to the Categories tab.
In this tab you can use the checkboxes to add products to the categories you need.
